Sunday 19th May - Birds of Prey Workshop

We were lucky enough to have almost perfect conditions; not too bright and very little wind.  Jonathan and George, our instructors, and Mike and Ross the falconers, ensured we had the most fantastic day.

The technical information provided in the classroom at the beginning of the workshop was pitched at just the right level to give everyone a better chance of success and the individual help and support out in the field was much appreciated.

Hopefully, we will remember all the technical information and tips from the workshop and be better prepared if we ever get the chance to capture images of birds of prey in the wild.

Tuesday 7 May Focus On … Close Up and Macro

Over 30 images were on display in this Focus On event.  It was good to see that many people had experimented with the tips and techniques which Robin had given us at meetings earlier this year.  And our Club events had proved handy as several of the images were taken at Blickling two Sundays ago.

Everyone at the meeting cast their votes for their favourite images.  Congratulations to Di Daniels, Roy Scrivener, Marnie Ball and Francesca Shearcroft whose images got the most votes.  We finished off the evening with each photographer describing the techniques they used and the audience joining in with their observations.

Sunday 28th April - Blickling Estate (NT)

Although there were no wild bluebells in the Great Wood yet, we did manage to find plenty of alternative spring flowers in the magnificent garden at Blickling.  The house also provided us with some splendid flower arrangements in challenging, low light conditions (tulips, tulips and more tulips!) . Everyone was helping each other and trying out different options and comparing results.

Another good turn-out, 23 including guests.  Big thanks to everyone for their continued support for our club events.  A few of our images from the day are featured below.

Tuesday 23 April - Round 3 Print Competition

Our EAF judge for Round 3 of our Print Competition (theme Action) was Andy Wilson, LRPS and his comments and scores certainly got people talking!   Competitions always create a lot of talking points as there are bound to be winners and losers and last night was no exception.

In his critique of the Club class entries, Andy described many useful camera and post-production techniques which we can investigate in future training and demonstration sessions at club meetings.

In total we had over 50 entries last night and you can see some of the high scorers below.
