Tuesday 28 October Round 1 Digital Competition

We had a busy evening with 76 images for judge Frank Blyth to review and score.  Once again the judge commented on the high standard in the Club class.  Ten images were awarded top marks (20/20) and Christine and Jan achieved top scores for both their images.  Well done to the top scorers and to everyone who entered.

Here are the images which scored 19 and 20:

16th & 19th October - Fungus Forays at Dersingham Bog

This was our first event of the new season and we were fortunate on both days to get fine weather.

Many thanks to Nigel Downer for leading these two practical workshops to Dersingham Bog National Nature Reserve.

We were shown many interesting and unusual fungi and given plenty of help and advice with identification and on how to obtain the best images of the fungi in their natural environment.

Some of the resulting images are shown below:

Tuesday 14th October - Phototrek 2014 results

At last night's meeting the results of this summer's Phototrek challenge were announced.  Congratulations to Caroline Tillett and Christine Alcock who are our Joint Champions, and to Jan Murphy in third place.  Scroll down to see their winning portfolios of six images.

Several other photographers achieved high scores in the individual categories and these images are also shown here.  Thanks to all 24 club members who took part in this summer's challenge.

In the second part of the meeting, we looked at what made strong Black and White images.   Many thanks to Christine, Francesca, Di J and Roy for demonstrating the four different methods.
